Michael is an American photographer currently based in Charlotte, NC. He is an avid explorer and storyteller whose wanderlust has taken him to over 46 countries on 5 continents. Michael lived all over the world, having spent nearly 10 years in Asia and another decade in Europe.
Fascinated by photography from an early age, Michael has embarked on a life-long journey of learning and mastering the art through continuous experimentation. After a long hiatus from photography, his passion was rekindled when he moved to Hong Kong in mid 2000's. While in Hong Kong, Michael became one of the most active members and an organizer of the Hong Kong Photography Club. Later, he and several members launched the Hong Kong School of Photography where Michael taught beginner enthusiasts how to use their cameras and fundamentals of photography. In 2010, Michael's image "Lightning Crashes" was an editorial selection of the National Geographic Photography Contest, and was featured on Boston.com as part of their Big Picture feature.
Partnering with global media organizations (Getty Images, Reuters, Bloomberg, etc). Michael's work has graced numerous international publications and advertising campaigns.
